Applauding 454's technical team, we predicted they'd return in five years with a system half the size.  Instead, three years later it was a third the size.  However, by then owned by Roche, marketing sought a look that complimented their flagship products, yet abided by the 1/2" thick Roche design manual.

EECP® Therapy System

EECP, Enhanced External Counterpulsation therapy increases blood flow in the body and reduces workload of the heart for patients suffering advanced heart disease, for whom interventional procedures are not amendable.  Non-invasive leg cuffs are sequentially inflated/deflated, pulsing counter to the heartbeat to increase blood flow to the heart and decrease the heart's workload.

The contoured pads, affixed upon a pair of ergonomically contoured rotationally molded supports, comfortably stabilize the patient as cuffs dynamically pulsate.  Pressure chambers, a compressor, pneumatic system, and computer are integrated within the treatment table and shrouded in sound deadened pressure-formed enclosures.  Displays, controls and prep station are easily swiveled upon an articulated arm within reach or set aside for patient access.

FactorsNY developed overall brand appearance, color and graphics for the entire line of PerkinElmer’s analytical lab instruments, collectively manufactured in five countries.  Through subsequent years, we followed with redesign and detailing of the molded and sheet metal enclosures for many of PerkinElmer's instruments. 

We were unaware during the rebranding program, that PerkinElmer was poised for sale to EG&G.  Within the following year EG&G changed their name to the more recognized PerkinElmer and adopted our brand appearance guidelines for all products throughout their 60 companies.
