OXO lives by ‘Universal Design’ - products that are easier to use by everyone.  Products that delight.  Tools that fit the hand.  In crowded markets, a new product must show a recognizable improved value – in other words, if OXO can’t make it better, they won’t make it.

When OXO asked our interest in creating salt and pepper grinders to expand their Good Grips housewares line… we thought hard about all we dissed about other products: grinds left on tabletops and cabinet shelves; fiddly little adjustment knobs; spilling corns and crystals trying to fill through tiny openings.  Yes, despite a plethora of products on store shelves - we certainly saw room for improvement!   

Of course, grinds SHOULD come out the top (customary on shakers), rather than leak out the bottom.  That leaves an enormous space on the base for a large fill aperture.  We added a simple slider paddle with tactile detents in plain sight for ease of adjustment… a large soft touch grip to assist grinding… and a thick clear acrylic body to show off your choice of contents.
