510KD engineered uniquely innovative steering mechanisms to more effectively perform complex heart surgery - by safely passing a catheter from the heart's right atria through a transseptal puncture to access the left.

They sought our human factors expertise for the design of an ergonomic handle to complement their inner workings.  Our integration of contoured rotatable controls, a formed body and articulated locking lever imparted stable comfortable grip postures, intuitive manipulation, and precise positional accuracy.

We detailed, engineered, and prototype modeled all inner and outer injection molded components for intimate mechanical fits with internal mechanisms… then coordinated offshore tooling and molding from among our established vendors.  With a single round of metal-safe tooling adjustments, pilot production samples were ready for pre-clinical trials.
